Quick Overview for International Artists
Galerie JIN & Chiyo’s – Yokohama, Japan
Galerie JIN
Side B “Chiyo’s”
Two spaces born from
the place once run by Jinzō and
Chiyo’s living room.
We now welcome new creative challenges.
We warmly welcome artists from around the world who are interested in exhibiting in Japan.
We believe that presenting your work in Japan can be a meaningful and valuable experience, and we are pleased to support international artists who wish to share their creativity here.
This page outlines important policies and conditions to ensure clear mutual understanding,
especially for artists residing outside Japan.
These guidelines are intended to prevent misunderstandings and to help both the artist and the gallery prepare smoothly and professionally.
While the following rules are essential and must be respected, we are always open to discussion regarding individual circumstances.
If you have specific needs or concerns, please feel free to consult with us in advance.
We will do our best to listen and consider reasonable requests.
We look forward to the possibility of working together.

Special Consideration for Overseas Artists (Non-Residents of Japan)
For artists residing outside Japan, on-site sales may present logistical challenges after the exhibition period.
In principle, standard sales policies apply. However, if an overseas artist wishes to conduct on-site sales due to difficulty managing storage or return shipping after the exhibition, the gallery may consider permitting on-site sales under specific conditions.
Approval will depend on:
• Compliance with Japanese tax and legal requirements
• Clear agreement regarding artwork handover procedures
• Confirmation that all shipping and logistical responsibilities remain with the artist
• Prior written agreement with the gallery
Please consult with us in advance if you wish to request this arrangement. Approval is not automatic and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
The gallery reserves the right to decline such requests at its discretion.
